are pleased to announce that Malaika King Albrecht is
the winner of the 1st Annual Poetry Southeast Poetry
Contest. She will be awarded $200, and her poem “Magician’s
Assistant” will appear in our Summer 2007 Issue.

Poetry
Southeast sponsors an annual poetry award to encourage
and reward excellence in poetry and to promote the publishing
of poetry on the Internet. The award will be given to
the best UNPUBLISHED poem submitted
to Poetry Southeast between June 1st
and August 31st of
each year. The winner will be awarded $200 and will
be published by Poetry Southeast in an upcoming issue.
All submissions should be sent to editor@poetrysoutheast.com.
Please attach poetry as a Microsoft Word document. Subject
line should read CONTEST SUBMISSION.
E-mails not containing this subject line will NOT be
considered for contest. Simultaneously submissions ARE
welcome, provided we are notified immediately of the
poem's acceptance elsewhere. Entry fee is $10
